Two Days Interactive Workshop concludes at GMDC Zanskar

Kargil: Government Model Degree College Zanskar in collaboration with IIT Jammu organized a two-day interactive workshop which concluded today.
A four-member team led by Dr Sayanthan Mandal of the Humanities Department visited the college. The first session began with welcome address for the guests.
Later, a discussion was held on the topic Integrating Teaching Learning and Digital Education in Higher Education with a special focus on pre and post-Covid -19 pandemic. Students and faculty members of the college participated in the discussion and shared their experiences, information and knowledge.
During the discussion, various challenges and positive side of the digital teaching-learning process were emphasized. Pertinently, the college is well equipped with digital education system to cater integrated teaching-learning process.
On the second day, the resource persons strived to imbibe and inculcate sense of inquiry and sense of research among the students.
An activity-based interaction under the theme Let’s Work Together was held in which students were distributed in groups and were asked to share local problems.
Each group was asked to present reason of the problem, its impact and possible sustainable remedy. The students participated in it with full zeal and zest.

Later, Dr Sayanthan Mandol delivered a powerpoint presentation. In his, lecture he emphasized the importance of integrative way of research in finding a solution of a research problem with example.
He said in most of the research one solution of a problem may cause another problem adding that it is important for researcher to look upon all aspects of a problem so that solutions become reliable and sustainable.
In the end, Principal GMDC Zanskar, Prof. Nasir Shabani presented vote of thanks and wished for collaboration with IIT Jammu in terms of student-based programs and research activity.
