Leh: The two-day training on Medical/Surgical Emergencies and Critical Care organised by the National Health Mission, UT Ladakh concluded today at Leh.
The experts invited especially for the workshop were Dr Tej Prakash Sinha, Assistant Professor, Emergency Medicine, Jay Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre (JPNATC), AIIMS Delhi; Dr Devansh Gupta, Senior Resident, Emergency Medicine, JPNATC, AIIMS Delhi;
Dr Jyoti Swaroop, SR, Emergency Medicine, JPNATC, AIIMS Delhi; Dr Dhiraj Bhandari Professor, Anesthesia and Intensive care, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Wardha, Maharashtra and Dr Musarrat Siddique, Jr Consultant, Public Health Administration, NHSRC, New Delhi.
The experts during the workshop on ‘Prompt Identification and Management of Critical Emergencies’ covered topics under Basic Orientation on Emergency Care, Pre-hospital Management, Referral Mechanism, Basics of ABCDE (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, and Exposure), Defibrillation, Trauma Management and System Based Approaches.
The training program was organised exclusively for Surgeons/Physicians/Anesthesia Specialists and Medical Officers from District Hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Supervisors who deal with emergency care in District Hospitals, CHCs and PHCs of both the districts of Union Territory of Ladakh.
A total of 27 participants from both Leh and Kargil district participated in the training.
The experts also inspected the ALS/BLS ambulances being engaged under 108 emergency services under NHM and suggested the latest equipment for making these ambulances compliant to the latest guidelines for ALS ambulances.
