Tsering Angchuk felicitates Ladakh runners who participated in different marathons across India
Leh: Deputy Chairman/EC Sports, Tsering Angchuk felicitated Monday all the Ladakh runners who participated in various marathons across the country this season.
Dy. Chairman/EC Sports, Tsering Angchuk along with Executive Councillor for RDD Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor Minority for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi, Councillor Kungyam, Dorje Motup; CCF Leh, Jigmet Namgyal; DYSSO Leh, Tsering Tashi also distributed sports kits to the runners under ‘Tsalyangs pay Spospa’ scheme.
It is an initiative by LAHDC Leh to promote and encourage sports person of Ladakh. The event was held at LAHDC Conference Hall.
Dy. Chairman/ EC Sports, Tsering Angchuk congratulated the players and extended his best wishes for their upcoming marathon. He advised the players to inspire and motivates the young generation to take up sports more.
He informed that Hill Council is working tirelessly to develop sports among the youth of Ladakh at an international level. He also thanked the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
Earlier, Coach/ manager, Tsering Stobgais, addressed the gathering that a team of 11 Marathon runners led by him won 21 medals (winter) in different events like Pune International Marathon, Tata Steel Kolkata Marathon, Tata Mumbai Marathon, Thane Marathon, Invincible Women’s Marathon, Apollo New Delhi National Marathon and also informed that the marathon Team has won around 40 medals during this season (September-February).
