Kargil: District SVEEP team Kargil today organized a sensitisation-cum-awareness program for perspective voters of Drass for Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Photo Electoral Rolls at Government Degree College Drass.
The program was chaired by Haider Ali Askari Incharge Principal GDC Drass as chief guest, Khursheed Ahmad Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Drass as guest of honour, and District Nodal Officer SVEEP Ghulam Rasool.
PRIs also participate in the said program.
The program began with welcome speech by Anwar Hussain Core Member SVEEP after that Nodal Officer ELC Govt. Higher Secondary School Drass (Lecturer) Sajjad Hussain sensitized the students and other participants about ELC and rights of perspective voters.
ELC Nodal Officer GDC Drass Assistant Professor Jigmet Sangyas also stressed upon the importance of young and perspective voters. He further gave a detailed information to all the participants regarding SSR.
Members of the District SVEEP Team gave a detailed presentation about SSR and how to get registered as a new voter. Further detailed information was provided regarding form 6, 7, 8 and 8A.
As part of the program, the chief guest and guest of honour graced the occasion with their knowledge and experience with the participants regarding greater participation for stronger democracy.
The speakers stressed upon the importance of youth in a democratic setup. The program concluded with vote of thanks by District Nodal Officer SVEEP.
