Super-specialist doctors from AIIMS Delhi felicitated

LG Mathur hoped for continued support from AIIMS Delhi to provide medical services to people of Ladakh

Leh, Apr 28: The UT Administration and Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, along with District Administration, Leh, organised a function to felicitate all the 30 super-specialist doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, who are in Leh for a Super Specialist Mega Medical Camp at Sonam Nurboo Memorial (SNM) Hospital from April 25 to 29. Ashoka Mission led by Ven Lama Lobzang facilitated the medical camp. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, was the chief guest for the event.

LG Mathur appreciated AIIMS Delhi and Ashoka Mission for providing this opportunity to the people of Ladakh. He stated that Ladakh is fortunate to have a long association with AIIMS and requested for continued association with the Institute for the benefit of the people of Ladakh. He thanked the super-specialist doctors from AIIMS led by the Head of Gastroenterology, Dr Anoop Saraya, for their service.

Dr Anoop Saraya from AIIMS Delhi also shared the experiences of the working of the super-specialist doctors in Ladakh and the diseases prevalent among people of Ladakh.

Earlier, Director Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Motup Dorje, gave the welcome speech. Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Dr Nurzin Angmo, gave the vote of thanks.

Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson; Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgial; Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk; all the three Executive Councillors of LAHDC Leh- Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Ghulam Mehdi and Stanzin Chosphel; Advisor Umang Narula, Principal Secretary, Dr Pawan Kotwal; Administrative Secretary, Ravinder Kumar; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Director Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Motup Dorje; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Nurzin Angmo; General Secretary, Ashoka Mission, Tashi Motup; medical staff and district officials were present during the event.
