The District Level Kala Utsav 2025 prize distribution ceremony was held at the DIET Hall, Leh, where talented students were felicitated by Bhanu Prabha, Administrative Secretary, School Education Department (SED), UT Ladakh, and Tashi Dolma, Director, SED, UT Ladakh. The event was graced by Deldan Angmo, Chief Education Officer, Leh, and Mirza Mehdi, Principal, DIET, Leh.
The ceremony featured a vibrant cultural group dance and a solo musical performance, offering a glimpse of the artistic talent displayed during the day. Prizes were awarded across multiple categories, including storytelling, drama, group dance, solo singing, and visual arts.
Addressing the gathering, both the Administrative Secretary and Director appreciated the students for showcasing Ladakh’s rich culture and urged them to aim for laurels at the national level. Bhanu Prabha emphasized the department’s commitment to nurturing students’ holistic growth—academics as well as co-curricular talents such as music and dance. She also encouraged mentors and judges to guide students for improved performances at higher levels.
Director Tashi Dolma highlighted that schools have been directed to identify talented students early so they can be provided with specialized music and dance instructors to hone their skills alongside academics.
Meanwhile, winners from District Level Kala Utsav, Kargil will soon compete with their counterparts from Leh. The UT-level winners will represent Ladakh at the National Kala Utsav, alongside participants from other States and Union Territories.
