STOK, DEC 6 — In a major milestone for Ladakh’s education sector, Government School Stok has been officially upgraded to Ladakh Model School Stok, ushering in a new era of modern learning, improved infrastructure, and enhanced academic standards for students in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Secretary School Education, Bhanu Prabha (IAS) and Director School Education, Tashi Dolma (JKAS), who reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening government schools and ensuring students in rural areas receive quality, future-ready education.
The event drew strong participation from the local community, including National Awardee Sonam Gyaltson, the Nambardar, and the President of Phanday Tsokspa Stok, reflecting a unified approach to educational development. Their presence highlighted the deep-rooted support for the Model School initiative and the shared vision of uplifting learning outcomes for children in the region.
Officials emphasized that the transformation would bring improved technology access, upgraded facilities, better teacher training, enriched co-curricular activities, and a student-centered learning environment. They encouraged parents and community leaders to stay engaged and support the school’s journey toward becoming an exemplary model of government education.
The Education Department thanked all contributors and reiterated its goal of replicating such reforms across Ladakh to ensure equitable, high-quality education for every child.
