Leh, May 12: In a major step towards promoting activity-based education and scientific learning among students, the STEM Lab Bus of District Institute of Education and Training Leh today reached Government Kuzey School, offering students an engaging hands-on science experience.
The STEM Lab Bus was flagged off by Principal DIET Leh, Sh. Mirza Mehdi, in the presence of Head of Department Ms. Tsering Yangdol. The initiative aimed to bring practical science education directly to school students and encourage curiosity-driven learning.
The programme was led by Ms. Tsering Yangdol and supported by the DIET Leh Science team comprising Ms. Kunzes Dolma, Ms. Chetna Sharma, Ms. Sonam Diskit, and Ms. Rashida Parveen. Students actively participated in a series of interactive experiments covering Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who eagerly asked questions, shared observations, and confidently presented their findings. Teachers appreciated the initiative, noting that such exposure promotes teamwork, creativity, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of science beyond textbooks.
The Head of Government Kuzey School lauded DIET Leh for the innovative outreach programme, stating that the initiative plays a crucial role in igniting scientific curiosity and providing meaningful opportunities for experiential learning among young students.
The visit forms part of DIET Leh’s continued efforts to nurture scientific temper and strengthen STEM education in Ladakh through practical and activity-based learning methods, ensuring students grow with confidence, creativity, and a lasting interest in science and technology.
