Kargil, June 15: In a major facilitation initiative for intending Haj pilgrims, a special Mobile Passport Seva Camp for Haj-2027 aspirants commenced in Kargil on Monday. The two-day camp, jointly organized by the Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, and the District Administration Kargil, will continue till June 16.
The camp has been launched to provide convenient and hassle-free passport services to prospective Haj pilgrims, enabling them to complete essential documentation well in advance for the Haj pilgrimage in 2027.
Under the special arrangement, a total of 80 appointments have been made available, with 40 applicants scheduled on June 15 and another 40 on June 16. The initiative is aimed at ensuring timely passport processing while sparing applicants the inconvenience and expense of travelling outside the district for passport-related services.
Chairman, Haj Committee, UT Ladakh, Ghulam Abbas Abidi, along with committee members, appreciated the support extended by the District Administration Kargil in organizing the camp. They expressed special gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS), for his cooperation and assistance in facilitating the initiative.
The Haj Committee also conveyed its sincere thanks to Regional Passport Officer Srinagar, B.S. Rawat, for making arrangements for the special Mobile Passport Seva Camp and ensuring the availability of passport services in the district.
Officials said the initiative is expected to benefit a large number of Haj aspirants by streamlining passport application procedures and helping pilgrims complete one of the most important prerequisites for the sacred journey.
The camp reflects the continued efforts of the Haj Committee and the administration to provide citizen-centric services and ensure that intending pilgrims receive timely assistance for a smooth and well-prepared Haj application process.
