Leh: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on Friday ordered a major reshuffle of judicial officers, bringing significant administrative changes to courts across Leh and Kargil.
The order, issued by the Registrar General, takes immediate effect for most positions, while a few postings will switch over on specified dates.
In a key move, Spalzes Angmo, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil, has been transferred and posted as Principal District and Sessions Judge Leh, replacing Manoj Parihar, who has been posted as Presiding Officer, Labour and Industrial Tribunal, J&K, on deputation.
Parihar, who earlier served as Principal District and Sessions Judge Leh, will now move to his new assignment after handing over charge as per the High Court’s directives.
The reshuffle also affects the Chief Judicial Magistrates of both districts. Wangial Tsering, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil, has been shifted to Leh as Special Mobile Magistrate, replacing Phuntsog Angmo, who has been posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate Leh.
Meanwhile, Tsewang Phuntsog, Chief Judicial Magistrate Leh, has been transferred to Kargil where he will take charge as Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil, replacing Wangial Tsering.
Beyond Ladakh, the reshuffle order—issued by the Registrar General—covers a wide spectrum of officers, including District Judges, Additional District Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates, Sub Judges, and newly promoted officers. Several senior judicial officers across Jammu, Srinagar, Samba, Udhampur, Poonch, Bandipora, Reasi, Ramban, Ganderbal, Shopian, Budgam, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kulgam, Rajouri, Kathua and other districts have been reassigned.

The High Court has instructed all transferee officers to complete pending judgments and part-heard matters before shifting to their new posts. Officers proceeding on deputation have been directed to report to the Registrar Judicial until formal government deputation orders are issued.
The latest reshuffle marks one of the most extensive administrative moves in recent years, aimed at strengthening judicial functioning, ensuring smoother case management, and improving service delivery across the courts of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
