LEH, October 28, 2025: The National Institute of Sowa Rigpa (NISR), Leh, under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, successfully organized a free medical camp and health survey as part of its TSP Project, “Tribal Health Care and Tribal Healers Capacity Building.”
A dedicated team of traditional Sowa-Rigpa physicians and health workers trekked across seven remote villages — Hangkar, Markha, Sara, Chalak, Sku, Kaya, and Tsoksti — providing free consultations, herbal medicines, and awareness sessions on preventive health and holistic living.
More than 200 villagers benefited from the initiative, with arthritis, gout, diabetes, hypertension, headaches, and nerve disorders emerging as the most common ailments. Local residents expressed heartfelt gratitude for the care and wisdom shared by the team.
By reaching Ladakh’s far-flung communities, the National Institute of Sowa Rigpa continues to strengthen the integration of India’s traditional healing systems into modern public health efforts, promoting wellness and cultural continuity across the Himalayas.
