Smriti Sharan, NRLM team visit TSG, Sankoo, interact with residents
KARGIL: Joint Secretary RDD NRLM GoI Shrimati Sharan IAS, Shrimati Vasuda Shukla and NRLM Team Visits TSG and Sankoo Kargil Friday Interacted with Village Organisations and Self Help Group members of TSG and SHG members of Sankoo.
The SHG members displayed the Local Products and Forest Products in the Stall which is Installed by BDO Drass and Incoordination with ACD office.
The NRLM team along with Director Rural Development Department Tahir Hussain Zabdavi , Assistant Commissioner Development Kargil Ghulam Mohd and Block Development officer Sankoo Kaneez Fatima visited and briefed the functioning and overview of SHG the Livelihood products and challenges they have been faced.
Joint Secretary have suggested the NRLM Members for strength of NRLM as scheme which aims to Women empowerment in rural Villages in Ladakh.
Smriti Sharan directed the NRLM team to recognize that the SHGs in the area are in their early stages, emphasizing the need to commence their work with commitment right from the beginning.
She encouraged SHG members to leverage the support of the NRLM team and advised them to prioritize savings, which will prove beneficial in the long term.
She also emphasised to technological intervention for local forest products in Rural Villages for SHG VO and CLF so that value addition in all sectors may achieve in time bound period.
She also inquired about various trades and listened to the grievances of SHGs and assured for all possible support.
She was overwhelmed by the products showcased by the SHG groups. She emplasized various schemes pertinent to women empowerment by ministry of RDD. Furthermore she asked the groups to focus on packaging and marketing. Later she thanked all the elite departments for their contribution and asked for joint coordination to support them and make them financially independent.
