Leh: The administration of district Kargil has provided 1099 greenhouses to beneficiaries under different schemes in the last three years since Ladakh become Union Territory.

Officials told Indus Dispatch, these greenhouses provided by the horticulture department of district Kargil to beneficiaries under schemes like Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) and Special Development Plan (SDP).
He also informed that the district administration is also providing 50 percent subsidy under these schemes.
He further informed that the 1350 Tabular Structures were given to beneficiaries in last three years.
“The number of pack houses remained 375 after the formation of Ladakh as Union Territory of India,” an official said adding that the horticulture department added 115.225 hectres of Land by the method of area expansion during the last 3 years.
He further added that the departments irrigated 47 hectares of land through drip irrigation after the Ladakh become Union Territory.
