Kargil : Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS), inaugurated the Shaheed Mohd Raza Memorial Volleyball League organised by Ladakh Volleyball Academy in collaboration with Skarchen Volleyball Club.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of ADC Kargil Imteeaz Kacho, Councillor Taisuru, Chief Organiser Abdul Hadi, DYSSO Kargil Abid Ali, and family members of Shaheed Mohd Raza, along with hundreds of sports enthusiasts.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Rakesh Kumar said the league was a tribute to the courage of Shaheed Mohd Raza and a step towards promoting sportsmanship among youth. He assured that the district administration would soon develop the volleyball ground and make provisions for night matches.
ADC Kargil stressed on brotherhood, professionalism, and the need for youth to excel not only in sports but also in fields like science and artificial intelligence, while staying away from drug abuse.
In the inaugural match, Friends Pashkum defeated HKC Hardass 2–1. Mementos were presented to the participating teams.
