
Several delegations called on LG Mishra, apprise issues, plans
Leh: A delegation comprising members of Centre for Earth, Ocean and Atmosphere Science, University of Hyderabad led by its Head of Department Prof Jayanand called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Niwas Leh Saturday.
Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS was also present in the meeting. Prof Jayanand apprised the LG about the institute’s plan for research program in Himalayan and Karakoram region and informed that the geologists are keen interest to work in the Ladakh region.
He requested the LG to allow the scientists or geologists to collect samples in the border area located at LAC and LOC.
The LG directed Secretary to LG to discuss and coordinate with ADGP, Ladakh in this regard. Nahida Banoo, Nodal Officer Children with Special Needs (CWSN), Ladakh called on LG at Raj Niwas. Nahida Banoo apprised the LG that she has trained to teach the special abled children and requested to retain her as Nodal Officer of CWSN in Directorate of School Education, Ladakh. The LG said that each case of attachment will be examined by the Board of Officers.
Mohd Issa, Physical Education Teacher, Government Middle School Sanjak called on LG at Raj Niwas. Secretary, Youth, Services and Sports, Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar, IAS was present in the meeting.
Issa requested LG’s intervention for early grant of study leave in his favour. The LG directed Secretary, Youth Services and Sports to take up the matter with the General Administrative Department at earliest.
Haji Mohd Issa Bakshi, a Social Activist from Taisuru, Kargil called on LG at Raj Niwas. Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS was present in the meeting. Haji Issa apprised the LG regarding shifting of Zonal Education Office at Taisuru and informed that the building of the said office is completed and ready for the shifting at Tai Suru.
He further informed that the existing office of the ZEO is working at rented building at Panikhar. He requested LG for early shifting of the ZEO office from Panikhar to Taisuru. He also demanded the construction of residential quarters for Police Station Panikhar.
This demand was considered by the ADGP who said that during his inspection a few days back of the area he had tour a new building constructed for the people of the Panikhar Police Station. The LG directed Advisor to LG to appoint an official to prepare a report in this regard and action be taken as per the report.
A delegation from Zankar led by Stanzin Laskhap called on LG at Raj Niwas. Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS and Deputy Secretary, GAD, Ladakh, Sonam Chosdon, KAS were present in the meeting.
The delegates appraised LG about their SRO-43 cases and requested for early compassionate their cases.
Deputy Secretary, GAD, Ladakh, Smt Sonam Chosdon informed LG about the status of their cases and assured to redress the matters as earliest. The LG directed Secretary to LG and Deputy Secretary, GAD, Ladakh to resolve the cases on priority basis.
A delegation led by Jigmet Paldan called on LG at Raj Niwas. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Ladakh SD Jamval, IAS was present in the meeting. The delegates informed LG about the delay in delivery of Eco vehicles purchased by them from Highland Automobile Pvt. Ltd Srinagar despite full payment. The LG suggested the delegates to consult the Consumer Court for the redressal of the issue.
