Leh: A delegation of parents of students studying at Kendriya Vidyalaya Leh led by Smt Sonam Yangzes called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas on the other day. In-charge Principal, KV Leh, YVK Swami was also present in the meeting.
Yangzes apprised the LG of the transfer of the in-charge principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Leh, Phuntsog Wangial, who after passing LDCE has become a regular principal and has been transferred to KV Kargil.
She also apprised the LG of the apprehension of the parents of students studying at KV Leh that the studies of their children might be affected due to the absence of a regular principal at the school. She along with other parents requested the HLG to get a full-fledged principal posted at KV Leh.
The LG informed the parents that the UT Administration will write to the Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for the posting of regular principals at KV Leh and KV Nubra keeping the tough geographical conditions of the region in mind.
Director of War Wounded Foundation, Northern Region, Brigadier Harcharan Singh (Retd), called on the LG at Raj Niwas. Director, Rajya Sainik Board, Ladakh, Col Lobzang Nima (Retd) was also present in the meeting.
Brig Harcharan (Retd) informed that War Wounded Foundation, a registered charitable Non-Government Organisation (NGO), will organise a rally for war-disabled personnel of all Northern States at Nagrota in Jammu, in which war-disabled soldiers will be honoured and various welfare initiatives such as distribution of scooters, Rs 1 lakh assistance in marriage of daughters of these soldiers along with loan to come up with their own start-ups will be available for them.
He requested the LG to send a team from Ladakh comprising 10 ex-servicemen and caretakers of the disabled ex-servicemen to take part in the Rally.
Commending War Wounded Foundation for their initiatives for the welfare of wounded soldiers, the LG instructed Col Nima (Retd) to send ex-servicemen and caretakers of the disabled ex-servicemen from Ladakh so that they could avail the benefit of the Rally.
