LEH: Several delegations called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat to address various issues on Tuesday.
A delegation of AYUSH Doctors called on the Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) to raise issues concerning the reduction in the sanctioned AYUSH Medical Officer Posts.
The delegation apprised LG that the sanctioned post of AYUSH Medical Officers was 12 which has been reduced to six posts and other six have been given to Sowa Rigpa. They requested LG to reverse the decision. LG in response, informed them that the demand of the people has been considered and the decision can’t be reversed.
In another meeting, Dr Nowshin Aziz called on the Lt Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) to seek permission from LG to pursue DNB Medicine at JLNM, Srinagar.
Dr Aziz apprised LG that she has got a state quota seat in JLNM, Srinagar for the DNB Medicine course but her NoC from UT Administration is still pending.
LG after consultation with the concerned Secretary, informed Dr Aziz that the course is available at Ladakh and her seat which is in State quota will be transferred to Ladakh.
LG also instructed Commissioner/Secretary Health Dr. Vasantha Kumar, IAS, to write a letter regarding the transfer of seats to the concerned officers.
In another meeting, Tsering Ladol Inspector Legal Metrology Kargil called on the LG and requested LG’s intervention in her transfer from Kargil to Leh.
Ladol apprised the LG that she has already completed her tenure at Kargil and she has also gone through surgery recently. She sought LG’s intervention in her transfer from Kargil to Leh on medical grounds as she has recently gone through surgery.
In response, LG instructed the Secretary Legal Metrology Department to complete the DPC and take the necessary actions.
In another meeting, Padma Chunit and Tsering Chorol called on the LG and requested LG’s intervention in the allotment of Land for the construction of Buddhist Stupa.
They apprised the LG that a Stupa will be constructed at a Land in Dambuchan Agling which is facing allotment issue.
They requested LG’s intervention in the regularization of the Land. LG in response, informed them that no policy in place for the allotment of Land as of now and when the policy is made, they will be allotted first.
Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS, Commissioner, Secretary Health Dr. Vasantha Kumar, IAS; Commissioner, Secretary to the LG Dr. L Franklin, IAS; Secretary Legal Metrology Yetindra Maralkar, IAS and DC Leh Santosh Sukhadave, IAS, were present during the meetings.
Later in the day, Former Executive Councillors of LAHDC Kargil, Skalzang Gara and Tsering Angdus, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lt Governor’s Secretariat.
During the meeting, Skalzang Gara highlighted the need for a community hall in Pibithang, Zanskar, and requested the LG’s assistance for its construction.
The LG assured his support in facilitating the construction of the community hall, recognizing its importance to the local community.
Tsering Angdus discussed the pressing issue of drought-affected areas in Karsha and emphasized the urgency of implementing a water-lifting project to address the challenges faced by residents.
The LG advised him to meet the Secretary PWD, Michael D’Souza, IAS, to explore feasible solutions at the earliest.
