Leh: A delegation led by Councillor, Bhimbet, Abdul Wahid called on the Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.
Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr Vasanthakumar N, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS and Director, Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Dorjey Motup were present in the meeting.
Wahid presented several demands viz. upgradation of medical sub center, Chowkiyal to Primary Health Centre, construction of New Type of Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) at Bhimbet and Kharboo village, construction/ sanction of Trauma center at Thasgam, Drass; creation/ establishment of Tourism Development Authority for Drass sub division and incentives to horse owners for the preservation of Horse Polo in Ladakh.
Director, Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Dorjey Motup informed the LG that the NTPHC Bhimbet is already sanctioned in NHM scheme and said that the identified land is not suitable for the construction of NTPHC at Bhimbet.
He also informed that a Trauma Unit will be established at Drass. The LG asked Wahid to take up with the LAHDC Kargil for suitable land for the construction of NTPHC at Bhimbet.
He directed Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Ladakh, Dr Vasanthakumar N, IAS for the early establishment of the Trauma Unit in the Drass sub division.
A delegation comprising regular Safaiwalas working in Health Department led by Villayat Ali called on the LG at LG Secretariat. Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr Vasanthakumar, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS and Director Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Dorjey Motup were present in the meeting.
Ali apprised the LG that they are working as Safai wala since 2004 and requested for promotion for next level of posts.
Director, Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Dorjey Motup informed the LG that three Safai walas were promoted as Orderly in December, 2023 and the process for promotion is already taken up with the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).
The LG directed Director, Health Services, Ladakh to ensure the DPC to be held as earliest so that the Safai walas would get promotion in due time.
Phuntsok Nurboo, an aspirant for teacher post called on the LG at LG Secretariat. Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr Vasanthakumar, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS and Director Health Services, Ladakh, Dr Dorjey Motup were present in the meeting.
Nurboo apprised the LG that he applied for the teacher post and not qualified the educational criteria.
He informed that he was qualified in CTET Paper 2 and requested the LG for relaxation in CTET Paper 1 for the post of teacher advertised by the Leh Autonomous Hill Development Subordinate Services Recruitment Board.
The LG directed Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS to examine the matter.
