Leh: The Second Edition of the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Tournament 2022 jointly organised by Physical Education Department, University of Ladakh in collaboration with Eliezer Joldan Memorial College Leh was held today at EJM College Leh.
Seven teams including SDC Kargil, GDC Zanskar, GDC Nubra, GDC Khaltsi, University of Ladakh, Central Institute of Buddhist Studies and EJM College Leh participated in the event. The event witnessed great enthusiasm amongst the audience as well as the participants.
While addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Comm/ Secretary, Higher Education Dept, Padma Angmo shed a light on the importance of sports for the overall development of students. She added that sports teach teamwork, dedication, discipline, resilience and humility which are essential to succeed in life. She appreciated the University of Ladakh and Eliezer Joldan Memorial College for the initiative.
DSW, University of Ladakh, Jigmet Deachen gave a detailed briefing of the tournament and thanked principal EJM College Leh for hosting the event.
Special guests included family members of the Late Eliezer Joldan viz. Mrs. Elza Angmo, Dawa Nurboo and Ms Rachel Dendol. Rachel Dendol expressed her gratitude to the college for organising such a great event in the name of the Late Shri Eliezer Joldan. She announced cash prizes for the winner and all the participants.
Professor Tashi Ldawa, Prof Stanzin Yangdol, Principal GDC Khaltsi also attended the event. DSW, UoL, Dr Jigmet Deachen and Director Physical Education, EJM Lt. Dr Ujwala Koche jointly supervised the event.
Principal EJM, Dr Samina Iqbal, College Leh presented the welcome speech and Dr Tsering Norphel presented the vote of thanks.
