Leh: Secretary Power Development and New and Renewable Energy Department, Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar today chaired a meeting to assess the project – electrification of border villages and outposts of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
The Technical Officer of Ladakh Power Development Department (LPDD) informed the Secretary of the inclusion of the border civil areas under RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme), a centrally sponsored scheme of Ministry of Power, GoI.
Secretary Ravinder had earlier directed LPDD and REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) to prepare a DPR dedicated for power lines of Border Outposts (BOP) of ITBP and submit the same to ITBP and UT Administration for further submission to the concerned Ministry.
The DIG (Adm.) ITBP informed that as directed by the Ministry, all Border Outposts of ITBP shall be included in the revised proposal of the DPR.
Further, Secretary Ravinder directed LPDD and RECPDCL to submit the revised DPR of the project on priority basis.
The tentative cost of the project is estimated at 777 Cr.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer LPDD G.A. Mir, DIG (ADM), ITBP A.K. Negi, Commandant (Engr.) ITBP Kamlesh Gaur, and officials of LPDD and RECPDCL.
