Leh: Secretary, Social and Tribal Welfare (S&TW) Department, Shashanka Ala, chaired a preparatory meeting Wednesday to review and finalise arrangements for the upcoming visit of the Union Finance Minister to the UT of Ladakh.

The meeting focused on detailed planning for the Minister’s itinerary, which includes visits to Leh and several remote areas of the region.

Discussions covered logistical requirements, site preparations, and inter-departmental coordination to ensure the visit proceeds smoothly and successfully.

Secretary Ala emphasised the importance of seamless coordination among all concerned departments and officials.

She reviewed and finalised key aspects of the visit, including scheduled stopovers, hospitality arrangements, cultural programs, and ceremonial receptions to be held at various locations.

Secretary Ala urged all departments to maintain constant communication and ensure that all arrangements reflect the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality.

The visit of the Union Finance Minister is expected to be a significant event for the region, highlighting developmental priorities and strengthening the Union Government’s engagement with Ladakh.

Also, the other day, Shashanka Ala, Administrative Secretary of the Social and Tribal Welfare Department, Ladakh, chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess and streamline preparations for the upcoming visit of the Union Finance Minister to the Union Territory of Ladakh.

During the meeting, the Secretary reviewed overall readiness and directed all concerned departments to ensure timely completion of necessary arrangements.

Key directives included finalizing accommodation logistics across various locations the Minister is scheduled to visit, and ensuring requisite publicity of the visit well in advance.

Specific responsibilities were assigned to respective departments, with clear instructions to ensure seamless execution and coordination. The Secretary emphasized the importance of proactive inter-departmental collaboration and timely communication for the smooth conduct of the high-level visit.

As part of the preparations, Secretary Ala held discussions with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Nyoma to review localized arrangements in the region, followed by a field visit to Hanle village.

The meeting was attended by the Director of Social and Tribal Welfare; Director of Rural Development; Director of Industries and Commerce; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nyoma, officials from the Handloom and Handicraft Departments; and others who joined virtually from outside Leh.
