SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay monitors snow clearance work at helipads

Kargil: Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay Tuesday monitored the snow clearance work at Helipads in Zanskar to lift the stranded passengers.

The snow clearance work of the helipads is underway in view of the arrival of Heli service of MI17 and Pawan Hans to lift the standard passengers from Leh to Zanskar and vice versa.

Pertinently, the move comes due to heavy snowfall in Zanskar last night and the accumulation of eight-inch snow near town areas of Padum.

Machines of the Mechanical Department have been deployed while the local labourers are on job to clear both the helipads as early as possible.

The SDM directed the PWD Department to engage more labourers for snow clearance work so that the heli service is not disturbed during its landing and take-off time.
