LEH: The District Congress Committee Leh organised an awareness campaign as per the guidance and direction of President Ladakh Territorial Congress Committee, Nawang Rigzin Jora about safeguarding Ladakh under the 6th Schedule in Nubra Valley.
The campaign was held from 18th to 20th November, which witnessed a resounding success as four dedicated teams embarked on the awareness tour across the valley.
The teams were led by DCC Leh President Rigzin Namgyal, Working President Rigzin, Vice President Vrc Capt. Tashi Tsepel and Ex EC Gurmet Dorjay joined by Councillors, senior leaders, office executive members and members of different blocks of Nubra.
They focused on educating the local communities about the 6th Schedule provisions and its potential benefits and how The Apex Body Leh is tirelessly pursuing this status for Ladakh.
The teams actively interacted with residents, engaging in constructive dialogues, and sharing insightful information about the provisions outlined in the 6th Schedule, which aims to safeguard of Land, Business, Culture and Jobs of our youths.
The Party also shared their dismay on Nubra valley being deceived by the BJP party as they have promised them district status which lead them to overwhelming victories in Councillor elections, and urged the residents to reflect and to not fall under BJP’s false promises again.
During the tour different villages’ senior citizens and residents also joined Congress showing their strong confidence in the Party, a statement issued by the Party read.
Mohd Khan former EC of BJP, Gh Qadir Ex JK Bank manager, Assad Ulla and many villagers from Tyaksi village joined the party.
Mehdi Shah with more than 10 youths and many villagers from Turtuk village were also welcomed into the party fold. And Punchok and more than dozens for youths from Skampuk village also came into the Congress fold.
Congress party pays their sincere gratitude to the people of Nubra for such warm welcoming and participating actively in the dialogues, and promises to remain dedicated to furthering conversations on crucial issues and advocating for the welfare and safeguard of Ladakh.
