Leh, November 6, 2025:
Adding speed and spirit to the 150th-year celebrations of Vande Mataram, the Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), UT Ladakh, organised an energetic Roller Hockey Exhibition Match today at STP Park, Agling, Leh. The event forms part of the nationwide commemoration of Vande Mataram being observed from November 7 to 14 across India.
The match witnessed lively participation as Team A and Team B competed in a fast-paced display of skill and teamwork, reflecting the rising enthusiasm for roller sports among Ladakh’s youth.
The event was attended by Director, HUDD, Moses Kunzang, officers and officials of the department, and members of the Ladakh Roller Skating Association. Officials from the Municipal Committee Leh and Igoo-Phey Division also shared insights on the reuse strategy of treated water at the Sewerage Treatment Plant, a model initiative promoting the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
As part of the event, Swachhata-themed T-shirts and water bottles were distributed, spreading a message of cleanliness, sustainability, and community engagement.
The exhibition match not only celebrated India’s patriotic heritage but also underscored Ladakh’s commitment to eco-conscious development, youth empowerment, and promotion of emerging sports disciplines in the region.
