Leh: The Election Commission of India has appointed Rahul Sharma, IAS (AGMUT: 2013), as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Ladakh.
According to an official order (No. 385-LA (GAD) of 2025) issued by the General Administration Department, Sharma, who is presently serving as Administrative Secretary in the UT administration, will take charge as CEO with immediate effect.
The appointment has been made in pursuance of Notification No. 154/Ladakh/2025-P. Admn. dated August 7, 2025, issued by the Election Commission of India. The order was formally approved by the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
As Chief Electoral Officer, Sharma will oversee all election-related processes in the Union Territory, including preparations for upcoming electoral exercises, voter awareness initiatives, and coordination with the Election Commission of India.
