Nubra, June 27: Administrative Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD), UT Ladakh, Shri Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, IAS, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing road and bridge projects being executed under the Roads & Buildings (R&B) and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) wings in Nubra district.
During the meeting, the Administrative Secretary sought detailed updates on the physical and financial progress of various projects, including their completion status, upgradation works, liabilities, and challenges affecting implementation. He emphasized the need for close monitoring and effective coordination to ensure that infrastructure projects are completed within the stipulated timelines.
Shri Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary directed the Executive Engineers of PWD to prepare comprehensive project-wise details under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), State Development Programme (SDP), and State Sector CAPEX schemes. He instructed officials to maintain accurate records and regularly review project milestones to facilitate efficient execution.
Highlighting the importance of resolving bottlenecks at the earliest, the Administrative Secretary directed Junior Engineers of both the R&B and PMGSY wings to work in close coordination with the Deputy Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Magistrate for addressing land, utility, and other project-related issues. He further stressed the need to prioritize works component-wise and adopt a result-oriented approach to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing projects.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS; SDM Nubra, Shri Jigmet Raftan, JKAS; Superintending Engineer, R&B Department; Executive Engineers of PWD Nubra; Assistant Engineers; and Junior Engineers of the R&B and PMGSY departments.
The review reflects the administration’s continued focus on strengthening road connectivity and accelerating infrastructure development across the Nubra region.
