: The Chief Education Office Leh successfully held a Public Hearing on the Social Audit under the PM POSHAN Abhiyan at Ama Tsogspa Hall, Yourtung, bringing together officials, School Management Committees (SMCs), parents, and students to review the scheme’s progress and impact across the district.
The event was graced by Mr. Zakir Hussain, Joint Director, Education Department, Leh, as the Chief Guest. Also present were senior officials including the Deputy CEO Kharu, A.D. Planning of the Chief Education Office Leh, and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) from various zones. Ms. Rigzin Yangdol, Nutritionist from SNM Hospital, shared expert insights on child nutrition and stressed the importance of maintaining high dietary standards under the PM POSHAN Abhiyan.
In his keynote address, Mr. Hussain highlighted the transformative role of the scheme in improving students’ nutrition and supporting their overall educational journey. He lauded the combined efforts of the community, schools, and administration in ensuring effective delivery of the program.
Ms. Yangdol provided practical guidance on preparing balanced and nutritious meals and emphasized continuous monitoring to ensure food safety and quality. During the hearing, parents, teachers, and students actively shared their feedback, with students expressing appreciation for improvements in meal quality, nutrition, and the overall dining experience at schools.
Adding a cultural touch to the event, students performed traditional dances, captivating the audience and showcasing Leh’s rich heritage.
The Chief Education Office, Leh, extended appreciation to all participants and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, community involvement, and continuous improvement in implementing the PM POSHAN Abhiyan across the district.
