Principal District, Sessions Judge Kargil Iqbal Ahmad Masoudi chairs UTRC meeting
Kargil: As per the directions issued by Ladakh Legal Services Authority, Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC), a meeting was held Wednesday in the Conference Hall Baroo.
In the meeting, Iqbal Ahmad Masoudi, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kargil/Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Fariqa Nazir Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil/Secretary DLSA Kargil, Shafiq Mushtaq Lone, Munsiff/JMIC Sankoo, Anayat Ali Choudhary SSP Kargil, Jigmet Singay Deputy Superintendent of District Jail Leh and Tsering Phuntsog, APP Kargil were present.
The Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) discussed the 07 cases wherein 10 Under Trial prisoners are presently lodged in District Jail Leh.
After the discussion and deliberation particularly with respect to the standard operating measures laid down by the Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition No. 406/2013, it was found that none of the Under Trial prisoners of District Kargil Lodged in District Jail Leh can be considered for the release.
