PIB Jaipur team tours Drass to study various developmental works

Kargil: Press Information Bureau (PIB), Jaipur team as part of a week-long press tour to UT Ladakh on Tuesday visited Drass valley to study various developmental works.
Deputy Director PIB, Jaipur, Pawan Singh Faujdar, AE&CO DIPR Leh, Stanzin Wangmo, a group of 13 media persons and PIB official were part of the tour.
The team visited the Kargil War Memorial and paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Kargil War.

The delegation also visited Govt Degree College Drass where an interactive session was held.
Students of different semesters enthusiastically took part and asked questions. Students expressed their views over developments post-formation of UT in Ladakh in general and Drass region in particular.
Many students asked questions to the media persons about the scopes in media and regarding their perception post formation of UT Ladakh. They also inspected the Atal Tinkering Lab of Govt Higher Secondary School Drass.
The team of journalists associated with various print and electronic media houses experienced the best practices and impressed with the education system in Drass.
Later, the team also visited eastern portal of the Zojilla Tunnel.

Project Head, Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), Harpal Singh while apprising the the team about the present status of ongoing works and the progress achieved so far.
Project Manager and concerned engineers informed about the efforts being made to complete the project within the stipulated time adding that the construction work on the tunnel will continue in winter months.
The Deputy Director PIB appreciated the pace of ongoing developmental of Zojilla Tunnel and appreciated the dedication of engineers and workers.
