Leh: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs is visiting Ladakh on four-day tour next week.
The high-profile Parliamentary panel headed by P.P. Chaudhary, a Member of Parliament from Pali Lok Sabha Constituency in Rajasthan, is scheduled to arrive in Leh on May 16 on four-day tour lasting till May 19.
The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has nominated Divisional Commissioner Saugat Biswas as official coordinator with the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs for its visit to the Union Territory.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs is a department related standing committee (DRSC) of selected members of parliament, constituted by the Parliament of India, for the purpose of legislative oversight of the foreign policy, and decision making of the Ministry of External Affairs. It is one of the 24 DRSCs that have been mandated with the task of ministry specific oversight.
