Leh: Pargive Club lifted the Royal Enfield Zonal Ice Hockey League 2023 by defeating Sharks Thongos Club by 3-2 in the final on Tuesday.
The Tournament was jointly organised by the Kargil Ice & Snow Sports Club & United Samrah Club (USC) under the aegis of UT Administration (DYSS) Royal Enfield Pvt Ltd, Ice Hockey Association of Ladakh from 22 to 26 Dec 2023, at Ice Hockey Rink of Samrah, Sub Division Shakar Chiktan.
Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan Councillor of LAHDC Kargil, Chiktan Constituency, was the Chief Guest during the Closing Ceremony.
11 Men’s Ice Hockey teams from different Villages of Sub Division Shakar Chiktan participated in this Tournament.
While addressing the gathering Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan said that by organising Ice Hockey will usher in an era in history of Shakar Chiktan and it will also help to boost the tourism in the region.
He stressed upon the youth to prepare themselves to compete at National and international level Games and bring laurels to the region. He also gave an assurance to extend all sorts of help in this regard.
Aman Ali Khan gave a brief resume of the Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League and thanked to UT Administration, (DYSS) Royal Enfield Pvt Ltd, Ice Hockey Asociation of Ladakh, Sub Divisional Administration Shakar Chiktan, and all Representatives of Samrah in general for extending cooperation in smooth, planning and organising of such a Zonal Level Event at Samrah, Shakar Chiktan. Later the Chief Guest Presented the Trophies among the Winner and Runner Up Teams.
