Kargil: PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School, Pashkum successfully organized a Parents-Teacher Meeting (PTM) today, witnessing an enthusiastic turnout of 83 parents. The event aimed to foster stronger collaboration between parents and educators, with a focus on academic progress, development initiatives, and student well-being.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Khadim Husain, Lecturer in Geography.
Principal Ishey Namgail addressed the gathering, sharing insights on the students’ academic performance, especially the school’s commendable results in the recent CBSE examinations. He also outlined upcoming projects aimed at strengthening the school’s infrastructure and academic ecosystem.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) for their continued support—especially in providing cooks and wardens during the winter residential remedial classes.
Highlighting new academic initiatives, the Principal introduced the Student Mentorship Programme, under which each teacher will mentor ten students to offer individualized guidance and support in both academic and personal development.
Mr. Fayaz, Chairman of the SMDC, also addressed the audience, thanking parents for their active participation and reaffirming the committee’s commitment to school improvement. He spoke about the ongoing construction of the Multipurpose Hall, funded with over ₹2 crore under the Special Development Plan, and assured timely completion through close coordination with contractors and higher authorities.
Additional remarks were delivered by Mr. Master Sanaullah, Mr. Baquir, and Madam Haji Zahara Bee, all of whom praised the school’s ongoing efforts in both academic excellence and infrastructure development. Their words reflected the growing trust and partnership between the school and the local community.
An open discussion session allowed parents to share their feedback and valuable suggestions. Parents were also presented with their children’s test results and Academic Performance Indicators (APIs), reinforcing transparency and communication.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Madam Vajjeda, who acknowledged the collective dedication of the teachers, SMDC members, and parents in supporting the school’s mission to provide quality education and holistic development for every student.
