KARGIL: The Chief Medical Officer, Kargil revoked the order for deputation of paramedical staffs to Srinagar and Jammu to provide medical aid to the locals in the winter season.
The order was issued to the CMO by Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, which was later withdrawn and revoked due to the interference of competent authority.
As per the reports, for the deputation of Paramedical Staffs to Jammu and Srinagar the Chief Medical Officer sent a letter to the health department on 14 December for their remarks over the letter by Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil’s, vide letter No. LAHDC-K/Med/2023/8410 dated12.12.2023. In which the Chief Executive Councilor, Kargil directed to depute the paramedical staff to various places at Jammu and Srinagar, during winter months to provide medical aid to the people of Kargil.
However, after the circulation of the letter for the deputation of paramedical staffs to Jammu and Srinagar, a letter to LG Ladakh was circulated over social media, requesting for his interfering in this matter.
Following the order by the competent authorities, the Chief Medical Officer, Kargil cancelled and withdrawn the deputation of paramedical Staffs to Jammu and Srinagar. He further added that in future no such recommendations shall be made.
After which a post was posted by MP Ladakh, referring the letter to LG Ladakh as a “proactive communication from the BJP Kargil to higher authorities to take a decisive action against such a move by LAHDC, Kargil”.
“He said on the Facebook post that these orders reflect a biased and nepotistic inclination, favoring affiliated government employees. This biased stance disregarded the critical healthcare needs of Kargil’s underprivileged, especially during the challenging winter months, when travel for medical care becomes a hardship”.
Reacting to the post of MP Ladakh, LAHDC Kargil posted on X that “such a statement is a blow to the autonomy of both the LAHDCs of Kargil & Leh and an effort to influence the powers vested to council under section 40 of LAHDC Act 1997. Such statement of MP Ladakh is a clear mindset to undermine and weaken the powers of both the LAHDCs”. (VoL)
