Onsite Training for Tele-MANAS Counsellors begins
LEH: Onsite Training for Tele-MANAS Counselors begin at Conference Hall, MD NHM Office, Skara Leh Tuesday.
In first of its kind initiative, Tele- MANAS under National Health Mission, UT Ladakh organized 3 days training program from 12th September to 14th September, 2023. The training programme is exclusively for the Tele-MANAS Counselors of Ladakh.
Dr Nurzin Angmo, CMO Leh, Dr Jamila Banoo DHO Leh and Dr Padma Angmo State Nodal Officer Mental Health were present on the inaugural session of the training program.
Apex team from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Science comprising of Dr. Suresh Bada Math (Professor of Psychiatry, Head of NDA and Forensic Psychiatry at NIMHANS), Dr. N. Manjunatha (Additional Professor of Psychiatry, NIMHANS), Dr Chaitaranya Reddy (Assistant Professor in Psychiatry), Dr Praveeen V Raj (Senior Resident in Psychiatry), Dr Abinash Chary (Senior Resident in Psychiatry) and Mr. Raghavendra K. (PSW in Apex team of Tele MANAS) are the resource persons.
On the first day, Dr Nurzin Angmo, CMO Leh, welcomed and thanked the team from NIMHANS for accepting the request of NHM Ladakh for the training program.
Dr Padma Angmo, SNO Mental Health gave detailed information about the Mental Health scenario in Ladakh. She emphasized the training the trainees to take up the training seriously and to implement the skills obtained for better Mental Health service.
Dr Jamila Banoo DHO Leh thanked the team from NIMHANS for coming all the way from Delhi to Leh for imparting training to the Tele-MANAS Counsellors of Ladakh.
On the first day the trainers gave detailed power point presentation and practical sessions (Group Activities, Mindfulness games) on topics like Communication Skills, Counseling Skills, and Rapport Building & Validation of Emotions, Active Listening, Myths / Misconception, and Counselors Wellbeing etc.
A total number of 20 participants took part in the training programme from Tele-MANAS and DMHP including Counselors, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatric Social worker, Technical Coordinator, and State IEC Consultant, NHM UT Ladakh.
