NYK organises District Neighborhood Youth Parliament in Leh

Leh: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Leh in collaboration with Jamyang High School, Leh organised District Neighborhood Youth Parliament at Jamyang School to celebrate India’s G20 Presidency in Leh Saturday. 

 

Dy Chairman/EC Education, Tsering Angchuk was the chief guest at the event. He was accompanied by Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, Ghulam Mehdi; Councillor Chushot, Mirza Hussain; Principal Jamyang School, Ven. Geshe Tsultim Tharchin; Dy SP UTDRF, Sonam Dorjey, and Dy Director NYK Leh, Tajamul Ara. A large number of students from Govt. Girls & Boys Higher Secondary School Leh, Islamia Public School Leh, and Jamyang High School Leh headed by their Principal and Headmasters attended the event.   

 

In his keynote address, Dy Chairman highlighted that the collective development of a society depends on the active participation of young people, who have the potential to make a significant impact and create a better world for all. 

He added that as future leaders, youths bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table, helping to drive progress and shape the world’s future. 

 

Dy Chairman added that Ladakhi youths are getting several opportunities in various sectors including education, sports, etc. He further asked them to follow their role models in achieving their dreams and goals.

He added that these kinds of initiatives often offer a platform for young people to take away good feedback which can be a powerful tool for learning, growth, and development.  

 

Earlier, Dy SP UTDRF spoke on the importance of the prevention of disaster and accidental risks. 

His team further familiarised the audience with a demonstration of first aid and medical first responder for accidental casualties. 

 

Principals of the schools spoke on the importance of India’s G20 Presidency and shared their thoughts on this year’s G20 theme “One Earth, One Family, and One Future”. 

The need for promoting secular ethics was also highlighted in their speech. 

 

Earlier, Dy Director NYK Leh presented the welcome speech whereas Headmaster Jamyang School presented the note of thanks.

 

Mementos were presented to the dignitaries, and certificates were distributed to the volunteers of NYK Leh for their services in the last two years. 

Colorful cultural performances were showcased by the students in the end.
