
New Anganwadi Centre under SDP inaugurated at Kelibuk
LEH: The Director Social and Tribal Welfare, Tashi Dolma, in the presence of the Sarpanch and Counsellor of Thiksey, inaugurated a new Anganwadi Centre at Kelibuk on August 22.
The Centre has been constructed under the Special Development Package fund. The architecture of the building has been made keeping in mind the harsh winter conditions of Ladakh. They are made with techniques of passive solar that have been used to keep the building warm and are south-facing.
Further, building consists of an activity room, counselling room, kitchen, storeroom and washroom.
The winter-compliant Anganwadi Centre aims to bridge the learning gap by providing a conducive environment that promotes active engagement, interactive and playful learning giving children access to a wealth of educational resources and stimulating activities.
Further, it provides local and traditional food to the children to meet their nutritional needs and supplements it.
