
Nearly 90% of Mini Hydel Project at Raru Zanskar complete
KARGIL: Executive Councilor, RD&PRD, LAHDC, Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi Monday inspected the ongoing progress and development of 2×1000 KW Mini Hydel Project at Raru Zanskar being executed by Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA).
The project has been sanctioned under Ladakh Renewable Energy Initiative (LREI), GoI in 2010-11 but delayed due to the non-availability of timely funds.
EC Tashi was briefed by an Engineer of KREDA that almost 90 percent of the work stands executed at site and fixing of electro mechanical parts is under progress.
It was also assured that one unit (1 MW) machine shall be put to run as a trial in the next 2 weeks and they will endeavour to complete the project by the end of November if weather permits.
EC Tashi directed the team of technical staff and engineers to speed up the work so that the same could start producing power supply for Zanskar. Tsering Norbu, I/C SDM Zanskar and Engineer of KREDA Kargil were present during the inspection.
