Kargil, October 12, 2025: Member of Parliament Ladakh, Mohd Hanifa Jan, today launched the book “Ladakh Mai Dard Sheen Ki Amad” authored by renowned writer and poet Mohammad Yasin Ansari.
The event, attended by literary figures, public representatives, and admirers of literature, celebrated the richness of Ladakh’s evolving literary culture and its deep emotional and cultural expressions.
Addressing the gathering, MP Mohd Hanifa Jan lauded Mohammad Yasin Ansari for his remarkable contribution to Urdu and Shina literature.
The MP emphasized the need to encourage local writers and poets, adding that literature plays a vital role in preserving cultural identity and fostering inter-community understanding.
Councillor Mohd Jawad, in his address, congratulated the author for his creative accomplishment and said that the book stands as an important addition to the literary landscape of Ladakh.
Councillor Abdul Wahid, said preservation and promotion of culture and language is necessary and appreciated Ansari’s effort. He also urged institutions and cultural organizations to provide more platforms for regional writers to share their voices.
The event was also addressed by Padma Shri Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Travel Expert Mohd Hamza, BMO Kargil Dr Jaleel and Anayatolah.
Author Mohammad Yasin Ansari expressed gratitude to the dignitaries and audience for their appreciation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and an interactive session where attendees discussed the growing importance of literature in shaping the contemporary identity of Ladakh.
