LEH: Focusing on key issues for the region’s progress, Member of Parliament Mohammad Haneefa Jan held a comprehensive and productive discussion with Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd).
The MP and LG addressed the need for boundary demarcation clarification of the newly announced districts to ensure effective governance.
The meeting held the other day discussed the contemporary boundary issue with Himachal Pradesh to prevent future complications were also discussed.
The MP said, “I emphasized of taking into consideration areas not included in the announcement. I pushed for early recruitment of gazetted posts, PSC, reservation for Ladakhis, to strengthen administration and create local jobs.” This will be a huge relief to the aspiring youths of Ladakh.
MP Haneefa in a message said, “I had a comprehensive and productive discussion with the LG BD Mishra, focusing on key issues for the region’s progress.
The civil aviation development in Ladakh, particularly Kargil airport was also discussed intensively.
The contemporary boundary issue with Himachal Pradesh to prevent future complications were also discussed.
“We also discussed resolving the boundary issue with Himachal Pradesh to prevent future complications. Additionally, I advocated for improving health services and expanding educational infrastructure along with other ongoing developmental projects to ensure access to quality life, healthcare and education across Ladakh. I believe these discussions will drive meaningful progress for our region,” MP said.
Pertinent to mention here that couple of days ago, MP Haneefa while assessing the boundary issue between Ladakh UT and Himachal Pradesh assured the public of Zanskar that the matter would be taken up with higher authorities and urged both the public and the governments of both sides to refrain from any activities until the boundary is officially decided.
During his three-day intensive tour to Zanskar Sub-Division, MP Haneefa Jan had visited Lungnak Block the other and addressed the grievances of the public. He also visited Sundu, Zanskar, to assess the boundary issue between Ladakh UT and Himachal Pradesh.
He assured the public of Zanskar that the matter would be taken up with higher authorities and urged both the public and the governments of both sides to refrain from any activities until the boundary is officially decided.
The visitors also observed that no officers or officials were present at Shinkula Top, where a traveler’s hut has been established by the Himachal Pradesh government on the macadam road constructed by the BRO.
A public delegation had submitted a memorandum highlighting their issues and grievances, which included fundamental problems such as education, healthcare, and the need for drinking and irrigation canals, all the matters were taken up with the LG Mishra during the meeting.
The MP has assured the people that he would work for the entire Ladakh region during his tenure, focusing on the development and welfare of the UT.
