
LEH: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) held a meeting with the Departmental Secretaries and Head of Departments (HODs) at Raj Niwas to review the ongoing work along with pending works in their respective departments, an official spokesperson said on Tuesday.
The LG discussed various issues during the meeting, viz. election symbol for the upcoming LAHDC Kargil polls; 4G saturation by BSNL in uncovered areas of Ladakh under Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF); the issues pertaining to the construction of NH301 Kargil-Zanskar National Highway; the transfer of doctors/paramedic staff at District Veterinary Hospital, Leh; the cancellation of attachment of teachers, except in case of emergency medical cases; the need to appreciate and felicitate primary teachers; providing employability skills to youth to make them employable; providing regular power supply to defence/paramilitary units in border areas; the creation of maps of wildlife areas after the rationalization of boundaries of Karakoram/Changthang Wildlife Sanctuaries, etc.
The LG highlighted the need to have a zero-tolerance policy on work output. He emphasised on completion of 4G saturation by BSNL within the stipulated timeframe. He also made several observations in the ongoing construction of the NH301 Kargil-Zanskar National Highway.
