Leh, Dec 11: The District Administration Leh organised a ‘Mimangs-si-sJabstogs’ Administration at Doorstep camp at the Community Hall, Diskitsal, bringing together 19 government departments to extend on-the-spot public services to the residents of Diskitsal and Maneytselding.
Nodal Officer for the camp, Dr. Shakil Ahmad, Incharge Chief Animal Husbandry Department Leh, emphasised that the initiative is aimed at ensuring that essential welfare schemes and services reach citizens directly, without delays or complicated procedures. He lauded the strong community participation and urged residents to make full use of the services available.
Dr. Ahmad outlined the range of facilities provided at the camp, including Aadhaar enrolment, inclusion of individuals above six years of age in ration cards and other welfare-related assistance. He added that public grievances would be addressed on the spot as far as possible, and unresolved matters would be forwarded to the concerned departments.
Officials from various departments including PDD, Education, Health, Animal Husbandry, Housing, and the Municipal Committee informed the public about key schemes such as PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Right to Education, Samagra Shiksha, updates on converting government schools into model schools, TLM grants, and eligibility under PM Awas Yojana, among other services.
Residents actively availed the services throughout the day, with 25 Aadhaar updates and 20 new members added to ration cards, along with several other on-the-spot facilities.
Community representatives, including Nambardar of Diskitsal and a representative from Maneytselding, raised a number of public concerns. These included demands for blacktopping of roads, renovation of the local maney, land-related issues such as lease deeds, damage to houses caused by unprecedented rainfall, water shortages, pending development works, sewage-related problems, improved network connectivity, timely household waste collection, stray dog issues, and problems related to electricity fluctuation and transformer capacity.
A memorandum detailing these issues was formally submitted to the administration. The Nodal Officer assured villagers that all concerns would be forwarded to the relevant departments for necessary action.
