Leh, Dec 12 — The “Mimang Si Jabstok” public outreach programme was held today at Skalzangling, where officials from multiple government departments and agencies briefed residents on ongoing schemes, services, and welfare initiatives. The session was led by Nodal Officer and Tehsildar Leh, Dorjay Gyalson (JKAS), who outlined the objective of the campaign and its role in strengthening transparency and citizen awareness.

The Education Department shared updates on women’s self-defence training being conducted in central schools with financial support, as well as progress under the Ladakh Model School Initiative. The Horticulture Department informed farmers about available schemes and subsidies, while the Power Development Department highlighted the 65% subsidy on rooftop solar installations.

The Agriculture Department briefed villagers on the polycarbonate greenhouse scheme—available in two sizes with a 75% subsidy—and provided updates on the PM-KISAN programme. The ICDS Department explained benefits under the PMMVY scheme for women.

In the financial literacy segment, RBI’s LDO Mr. Subin discussed the settlement of unclaimed deposits under the “Your Money, Your Right” initiative of the DEA Fund and demonstrated the UDGAM portal for tracing unclaimed deposits. He also explained the role of banking ombudsmen and shared cyber-fraud prevention tips.
LDM Leh Stanzin Dolkar highlighted the status of DEAF accounts in the district and encouraged community members to visit bank branches to reclaim their funds. Kifayat Hussain, Manager CFL Project, briefed participants on social security schemes such as PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, PMEGP and essential KYC compliance.

Representatives from major financial institutions, including SBI, JK Bank, JKSCB, PNB, and LIC, were also present.

PWD (Construction and R&B Divisions) shared updates on local road works and the ongoing construction of the crematorium centre at Dambuchan. JK Bank officials spoke about scholarship schemes and procedures related to unclaimed deposits.
The Fisheries Department highlighted the PMMSY scheme and the importance of tsetar (fish rearing), clarifying the 60% central share and 40% beneficiary contribution. The PHE Department discussed the higher cost of executing projects in Ladakh due to altitude and geographical challenges.

The local Goba raised key community concerns, including issues of land allotment, drinking water shortages, difficulties faced by persons with disabilities, and the need for improved street lighting.

In the concluding session, the Nodal Officer clarified procedures for land allotment and revenue record registration. On-site services were also provided, including the addition of five ration cards, multiple eKYC updates, and the Aadhaar team updated 12 Aadhaar cards during the camp.
