Mega Plantation Drive to be held in Lardho Liktse

Leh: The Chairman/ CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson reviewed preparation for the “Mega Plantation Drive” to be held in Lardho Liktse in Conference Hall Council Secretariat Monday.

CEC Gyalson, reviewed progress of the project from the respective departments ahead of the mega plantation drive.

The district officers and sub-divisional officers/officials from various district departments apprised CEC regarding the developmental progress of the Mega Plantation Drive at Lardo Liktse.

CEC Gyalson directed all the HoDs to do a site plan and visit the place, to ensure completion of all developmental works at the venue.

He also informed that he would review further progress in future. He also stresses on the importance of the water lifting.

Under the guidance of His Eminence Khamtak Rinpoche Jigmet Nawang Namgial, this Mega Plantation Drive is aimed to overcome environmental challenges and to promote a greener earth.

The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor for Horticulture, Ghulam Mehdi; Councillor Kungyam, Thinless Nurboo; Chairperson BDC Rong, Jigmat Yountan; Officers and officials from the Agriculture, Forest, I&FC, RDD, Mechanical PHE and PHE Department Leh and Vice- Chairman, Mega Plantation Drive, Lardho Liktsey.

Meanwhilem a delegation from Skampuk village, Nubra headed by Councillor Hunder, Kunzang Lotus called on the Chairman/CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson to discuss regarding the issues and genuine demands of the people of Skampuk village.

CEC Tashi Gyalson assured the delegation for a positive response to address the issues and demands at the earliest possible.
