Kargil, November 3:
Athletes from Kargil district delivered an impressive performance at the State Level Inter-District Athletic Championship 2025 in the Under-17 Boys and Girls categories, held at Leh, bringing laurels to the district with several podium finishes across multiple track events.
In the boys’ category, Mohammad from HS Goma Kargil clinched the first position in the 200 meters, while Zulfiqar Ali from MPHS Saliskote and HS Yuljuk secured first positions in the 400 and 800 meters, respectively. Suhail Ahmad of HS Samra bagged third position in the 100 meters, and Shujat Ali from HS Yuljuk finished third in the 800 meters.
In the girls’ category, Fatima Banoo of GHS Panikhar secured third place in the 100 meters, Zareena Banoo of the same school earned second position in the 400 meters, and Zehra Batool Zargar from NPHS Sankoo claimed second in the 800 meters.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kargil, Abid Ali, congratulated the medal winners and all participants for their hard work, discipline, and determination, and expressed appreciation for the coaches and PETs who have been instrumental in nurturing young sporting talent across the district.
