Kargil: In a heartfelt initiative ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025, Major General Ashim Kohli (Retd), a decorated Army veteran and Founder of SEWAJ Foundation, interacted with students of PM Shri Government High School, Thasgam in Drass.
His visit aimed to inspire the young minds of Ladakh and honor the legacy of India’s brave soldiers.
As part of SEWAJ Foundation’s educational outreach, school bags were distributed to students during a special event held at the iconic Kargil War Memorial.
The gesture symbolized a blend of remembrance and hope—honoring the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil War while investing in the future of the region’s youth.
During the interaction, Major General Kohli shared powerful anecdotes of courage, resilience, and national service, encouraging students to pursue education with sincerity and contribute meaningfully to the nation.
His message deeply resonated with both students and teachers.
The outreach was warmly received by the school authorities, local residents, and military personnel present, who appreciated the Foundation’s continued commitment to education and empowerment in remote areas.
The initiative served as a fitting tribute to the heroes of Kargil and highlighted the importance of nurturing patriotism and ambition among children living in India’s border regions.
