LRLM Kargil kick-starts social mobilization campaign ‘Sangathan Se Samriddhi’ at Badgam
Kargil: District Mission Management Unit, Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission kick-started Social Mobilization Campaign under the theme of “Sangathan Se Samriddhi” at Badgam Village of Kargil District under the supervision of Project Officer Wage (ACD), Ghulam Mohammad the previous day.
It is aimed reach out to uncovered households and PMAY beneficiaries of Kargil Block into Self Help Group (SHG) as well as to do 100 percent saturation by Sept. 2023-24. Notably, the campaign was inaugurated by Minister of Rural Development, GoI, Giriraj Singh on April 18, 2023, across the State/UTs.
BDC Kargil, Khatija welcomed the staff of LRLM, women and shared her thoughts about the NRLM Scheme and its reach across the State and UTs of India. She urged women to come out of their household chores and take part in socio-economic and political developments.
Fatima, Lakhpati Didi currently associated with her business in both farm and non-farm sectors and also associated with the SHG and VO, talked about her journey before and after joining the SHGs. She also talked about the various opportunities and technical supports available with the NRLM and urged all to grab the opportunities to become self-reliant.
Mahmooda, Cluster Coordinator, CLF-A Kargil also talked about her journey into the SHG to Cluster Coordinator. She urged all women to join SHG for their individual and societal development.
Abhishek Kumar, District Mission Manager, LRLM talked about food, health, nutrition, and sanitation. He urged all women to actively participate in the betterment and overall development in the health domain. He stressed on good food habits by adopting traditional methods of food.
Muneer Rasul Wani, District Project Manager, LRLM talked about the livelihood opportunities and scope in the Badgam village. He said with will, courage, and determination, everything is possible. He said SHG is the best way towards women empowerment and being self-reliant.
Sunil Sharma, Block Program Manager, Kargil presented vote of thanks to the participants and urged them to join SHG movement to become self-reliant and empowered.
During the program, a documentary was also screened by the LRLM Team. Near about 150 women participated in the program which concluded successfully.
