Leh, May 2: A massive wave of devotion swept through Jivetsal in Leh as nearly 11,000 visitors and devotees gathered on the second day of the Sacred Exposition of the Holy Buddha Relics, creating an extraordinary spiritual atmosphere across the town.
People from Nubra, Durbuk, and several remote parts of Ladakh travelled long distances to pay their respects to the sacred relics of Lord Buddha. Since early morning, long yet शांत and disciplined queues of devotees could be seen stretching across the open grounds of Jivetsal and spilling onto the main approach road.
Despite the biting cold winds of Ladakh, devotees—including elderly people, schoolchildren, and monks—waited patiently from as early as 6:30 AM, chanting prayers and mantras as they awaited their turn for darshan.
Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena described the gathering as a “sea of humanity” and appreciated the discipline and devotion shown by the visitors despite long waiting hours.
He also praised the extensive arrangements made by the administration to ensure a smooth, comfortable, and hassle-free experience for devotees and visitors.
Calling it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the people of Ladakh, the LG expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for making the exposition of the sacred relics possible in Leh.
The exposition has turned Leh into a centre of deep spiritual fervour, with the city resonating with prayers, devotion, and reverence for one of the world’s most treasured spiritual heritages.
