KARGIL: November 11, 2025: In a series of public interactions aimed at strengthening citizen engagement, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, met several delegations from different parts of Kargil at Raj Niwas, Kargil today.
During the meetings, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar, and Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Shri Nitin Yadav, were also present.
Among the delegations, representatives Mohd Afzal and Mohd Kazim from the Medical Department requested the creation and upgradation of posts such as Senior ECG Technician, Senior Cardiographer, Senior Anesthesia Technician, and Senior Technician Supervisor, to strengthen healthcare services in the district.
Another delegation from the Parents’ Association of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Khumbathang, voiced concerns over the winter relocation of students to Baramulla district, noting that the region faces equally harsh winters. They appealed for alternative arrangements in Jammu or other moderate-climate areas.
A group of part-time workers also met the Lieutenant Governor, seeking enhancement of wages in line with the Minimum Wages Act.
The Lieutenant Governor patiently heard all concerns and assured the delegations that their genuine demands would be examined on priority, with suitable action taken in consultation with the relevant departments.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to inclusive and equitable development, Shri Kavinder Gupta directed officers to ensure prompt and effective grievance redressal. He appreciated the constructive feedback from the delegations and emphasized that the government remains focused on enhancing public service delivery, improving infrastructure, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, particularly in remote areas such as Kargil.
