Leh: The lieutenant Governor, R K Mathur on Thursday released ‘Ladakh Vision Document- 2047’ along with the ‘Statistical Handbook of UT Ladakh’ on the sidelines of the 3rd Ladakh Planning Board meeting.

Chairing 3rd Ladakh Planning Board meeting which deliberated on major developmental projects of Ladakh.
“Carbon Neutral initiatives, Borderdevelopment projects along with other projects related to primary & entrepreneurial sectors were discussed,” an official spokesperson told Indus Dispatch.
LG Mathur stressed the need to encourage and provide assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their own units and enterprises, particularly in the primary sector such as greenhouses, dairy, vegetables and horticulture, to boost their livelihood opportunities and also provide jobs to other youth.
He stressed the need to teach skills to the youth for employment opportunities.
LG Mathur highlighted the impact of climate change and the need for developing plans for the conservation and management of water in Ladakh.
Secretary, PDD, Ravinder Kumar gave a detailed presentation on various initiatives taken to achieve the goal of making Ladakh a carbon-neutral region. Principal Secretary, Dr Pawan Kotwal, gave a presentation on the development of border areas through Changthang Development Package.
Secretary, Animal/ Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Ravinder Kumar, gave a presentation on the Range, Land and Fodder Development Policy for Ladakh.
Member of the Planning Board- Dr SP Yadav, C Phunsog, Rashmi Verma, Alok Bansal, Dr PR Swarup, Dr GS Rawat, Professor SP Singh, Dr Prakash Chauhan and Dr Brahma Singh- highlighted issues and interventions needed for the overall development of Ladakh. Chairman of both the Hill Councils along with MP Ladakh also spoke on the occasion.
