Leh, Dec 9: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, met several delegations at the LG Secretariat on Monday to discuss a range of public concerns related to women’s empowerment, healthcare, sports infrastructure, and youth development.
Kunzes Dolma, Vice President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association (Women Wing), requested the LG’s intervention for the creation of a UT-level Commission for Women, similar to those functioning in other States and Union Territories, to address challenges faced by women in the region.
A delegation from Skurbuchan, led by Nambardar Paldan, submitted a memorandum outlining various local demands and sought administrative attention to long-pending public issues.
Another delegation from Khaltse, headed by Ven. Padma Thinles, urged the Lieutenant Governor to relocate an ongoing cricket field construction, citing local concerns.
The Lt Governor assured all visiting groups that the UT Administration will examine their issues on priority and take appropriate steps to ensure inclusive, community-driven development across Ladakh.
